A story of mine called “Perfect Excuse” will be published in the Cold Lake Anthology this summer. It’s about a guy who has an irreconcilable time conflict which would prevent him from attending a once-in-a-lifetime sporting event half way across the country. He resorts to hiring a company, devised by a friend, which purports to construct elaborate, airtight excuses for just about any situation. But will he be able to pull it off? The magazine will be available on Amazon and is produced by the Burlinton Writers Workshop in Burlington, Vermont.
THOMAS BENZ graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of Notre Dame. He recently won the 2017 Serena McDonald Kennedy Award for a short story collection called “Home and Castle.” The book is to be published by Snake Nation Press in the fall.
